To mark the start of the third series, join host David Kermode as he explores all things vermouth. The fortified wine is a mixologist’s hero – but there’s so much more to discover about the drink. Such is its illustrious history, the drink actually began life as an elixir quaffed in spas and celebrated for its medicinal properties.

These days, it makes a cracking aperitif and cocktail ingredient. We head to the home of vermouth, Turin, to talk to Roberto Bava, the MD of Cocchi and President of the Consorzio Vermouth di Torino, about the drink.

Plus, Luca Marchiaro, the export manager at Antica Distilleria Quaglia, and Jon Lister, of Speciality Brands, tell us about their relationship to wine.
