If anyone knows their onions (pickled for a Martini garnish, naturally) it’s Alice Lascelles. The acclaimed drinks writer joins host David Kermode on this week’s podcast episode, kicking off Series Eight. Lascelles’ latest book, The Cocktail Edit, (which is also featured in our guide to the best new cocktail books to gift someone this Christmas) is built around a capsule collection of 12 drinks based on the author’s no-fuss approach to cocktail making. Over the course of the episode, Lascelles explains the inspiration behind the book, which classics are best to have under your belt, and how to incorporate future cocktail trends into your drinks without overcomplicating them, and buying specialist ingredients you’ll only use once.
