It’s South Africa’s biggest and most famous wine region, but why is Stellenbosch so special? The vast, historic town just outside of Cape Town is home to over a third of the region’s wineries, and while we might think of it as a New World producer, it’s actually been in the industry for around 300 years. Host David Kermode and accomplished winemaker Rudger van Wyk discuss Stark-Condé‘s Cabernet Sauvignon, an established bottle from the winery, which is only growing in popularity.

Plus, what do ‘Old World’ and ‘New World’ mean when it comes to whisky? Kermode speaks with whisky expert Charlie Steel about what the distinction really means, and what you should look for when tasting the newer stuff.
