St Hugo, Grenache/Shiraz/Mourvèdre 2018

RRP POA

Hugo Gramp was not only head of the company but an industry leader when he tragically died in a plane crash. A commemorative brand that began with a Coonawarra Cabernet is now quite extensive. The colour is deep, bold red/purple, and the bouquet is vibrant dark cherry and plum interwoven with spice and nutty barrel influences. The wine is full-bodied and softly textured, fleshy and plush. There is a big finish, thanks to masses of ripe tannins and substantial alcohol warmth. Dense and concentrated, this is well worth cellaring.
