The nose is reluctant at first, with traces of lemon and fusel oil, as though saving the straw-coloured wine’s lovely complexity for the palate. There, it displays lightly puckery, distinct mineral tones of wet creek stones balanced by flavours of quince, the skins of green apples and a finish hint of Riesling-like petrol. Good acidity and traces of tannin accentuate a long finish. Overall, the wine is very muscular and well-structured, yet is not over-powering, either when sipping by itself or enjoying with food.
