The Society has made a real effort to offer a range of rosé wines in a spectrum of styles but I’m still opting for the original and best, from Provence, where rosé winemaking extends back to the Roman era. With the blend led by Grenache, there’s a summer melange of strawberry, raspberry and watermelon with the all important peachiness on the mid-palate and that lick of seashell minerality that singles it out as Provence.
