I tend to be wary of lower-priced Pinot Noir but this is a lovely fresh, pure example from Mittelhaardt in Germany’s Pfalz region and a prime example of a ‘chillable red’. There’s crunchy, bright berry fruit, cranberries, red cherries and a gentle herbal note, all of which makes it well suited to a spell in the fridge. Serve this with a top-quality sausage in a hot dog with mustard and crispy onions.
