It’s wonderful to see a regional Sangiovese-based red like this in Lidl. From the 2023 vintage, this coastal Tuscan wine is starting to show some age, delivering lactic cherry and baked blackcurrant and blueberry notes. A whiff of toast and a grippy, graphite-like finish give this wine a pleasingly rustic, Old-World feel. You’ll want it with food though, so try roasted meats or rich tomato ragus.
