An enticing, complex blend of two-thirds Syrah and one-third Grenache with a splash of Roussanne, this dark, dense red wine from the mountains east of Avignon wakes up slowly with the earthy, savoury aromas of wet forest floor. The Syrah dominates in the taste, with the dark, chewy fruitiness of cassis, blackberries and blueberries along with prominent notes of smoke, black pepper and road tar, all brought alive with bright acidity. The oak integration is seamless; the tannins mellow.
