Red wine
Château Giscours 2009
RRP £42.75
Bought in 1995 by late Dutch businessman Eric Albada Jelgersma, Giscours is run by another Dutchman, Alexander Van Beek, who did an internship at the property that same year and never left. The 2009 has a distinct, green bell-pepper note on the nose. This herbaceousness is still there on the palate, where it offers a welcome fresh note to an otherwise sumptuously rich-fruited wine with chocolatey overtones.
