Garnacha from the schist vineyards of L’Ermita, harvested late in the autumn, produces a wine that is dense and lip-stainingly purple in appearance and restrained and elegant on the palate. There is fresh black cherry on the nose, not leaping out, then a palate equally restrained with dark fruit and fine-grained tannins. Lovely: full of verve, you feel it will develop in infinitesimal increments for decades.
