Corton Grand Cru
Bright Delicate Fresh

Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, Corton Grand Cru, 2016

RRP £310

Bright colour, delicate and shy on the nose then dense very fresh and full on the early palate. Disappearing tannins (they are there, but a ghostly presence) which leave an impression of a shortness in the finish. Lovely delicacy to the fruit – ripe plum and dark cherry, hints of leafy raspberry. As the wine opens in the glass the tannins begin to show, and after five or seven minutes they boost the finish with a very fine grainy dryness which persists.
