Caol Ila 1990 28 Year Old

Gordon and MacPhail, Caol Ila 1990 28 Year Old

Caol Ila is derived from Gaelic Caol Ìle for Sound of Islay (lit. “Islay Strait”) in reference to the distillery’s location overlooking the strait between Islay and Jura, it was founded in 1846. This Caol Ila has lots of smoke for its age mixed with medicinal aromas of iodine and hospital bandages and carbolic soap. The Palate is sweet, fresh and lively with a citrus and soft smoke finish.
