Domaine Tollot-Beaut, Beaune 1er Cru, Grèves 2003

Plump red fruit; sweet raspberries. Surprisingly in the red fruit spectrum. Hard to believe this is 16 years old – very little tertiary character. Soft and succulent, with smooth, easy tannins, a little spice and a touch of anise on the finish. The finish is not especially long, but the mid-palate intensity is good. Drink now, but there’s no hurry.
