In 1887, Giovanni Spagnol, known as Nani Rizzi, planted the first rows of vines amongst the verdant hills of Valdobbiadene. He could not have known he was laying the foundations for a legacy that would endure for generations. His son Ergi took over the winery, infusing each cluster with the same dedication and love for the land. Today, that same passion drives Denis Spagnol, who runs the business alongside his three daughters, Giulia, Elena and Silvia.
Every stage of production, from tending the vines to the careful processes in the cellar, is overseen with the dedication and attention that only a family can provide. The company’s philosophy is simple: a feeling to live, a story to share. The wines honour tradition and gracefully accompany those convivial moments that seal life’s most treasured memories.
What the family most enjoys about making wine is the intimacy of the process: seeing the vines grow season after season, knowing that every detail carries their family’s touch. It is not only about creating something to drink but about shaping an experience that reflects who they are and where they come from. They love the moment when their wines leave the cellar and reach people’s tables, because it means their story becomes part of someone else’s story. That connection, between land, family and shared memories, is what makes this work so deeply rewarding.
The wines are unique because they bring together the wisdom of four generations and a deep love for the land, which they care for as their home. Every bottle reflects a pursuit of excellence and a mission: to create unforgettable experiences. The signature style, elegant, balanced and fresh, makes the wines perfect for convivial moments that mark life’s milestones. What truly sets them apart is the human value they preserve. In an era of technology and interventions designed to standardise, they still rely on inherited knowledge and authenticity. They balance their wines not through shortcuts but by respecting nature and using rare local varieties such as Perera and Bianchetta, which bring harmony to Glera and are slowly disappearing. This dedication gives the wines their distinctive character and lasting emotional impact.
