From the salt-kissed shores of Islay to the rolling Highlands and the colourful Isle of Mull, CVH Spirits calls some of Scotland’s most characterful places home. The company’s distilleries – Bunnahabhain, Deanston, Tobermory and Ledaig – along with the bold Islay blend Black Bottle, are brought to life by teams who care deeply about what they do. Many have worked here for decades, others are just starting their journey. Together, they’re united by a simple truth: whisky is about more than what’s in the glass. It’s about people, place and genuine pride in every drop. This year, CVH Spirits has secured eighth position in the IWSC Top 50 Producers.
CVH Spirits was established in 2023 following the acquisition of Distell by Heineken. The brands, formerly part of Distell International, became part of CVH, an independent business majority-owned by Remgro, a respected global investment group. The premium portfolio includes renowned single malts and celebrated blended Scotch whiskies enjoyed across more than 60 global markets, reflecting a commitment to craft, character and world-class quality. As a full-service producer, CVH also offers end-to-end bottling, blending and packaging capabilities from an advanced facility in East Kilbride, certified to the highest standards including BRC AA+, Organic and Kosher.
The whiskies carry a sense of where they come from. You can taste the coastal salinity of Bunnahabhain, which has stood proudly on the remote northeastern shore of Islay where sea spray and salt air shape every cask. Deanston brings honeyed warmth from a small town with big spirit, bold and brave and always striving for better. Tobermory, a boutique island distillery, crafts both unpeated single malts and peated Ledaig with artisanal precision, their vibrant island character unmistakable. Black Bottle adds its own bold Islay twist, expertly crafted with a signature unconventional edge.
What the team loves most is the balance and exciting tension between tradition and discovery. They’re hands-on makers at heart and take as much joy in the process as in the result. Each whisky has its own personality, but they all share the same spirit: honest, full of character and crafted to be enjoyed.
