I’m no fan of so-called ‘celebrity wines’ and, in all honesty, when I saw ‘cuvée rock n’ roll’ on the label I feared a flat note, but it’s actually rather good. Queen’s drummer, Roger Taylor, is behind the project, and he’s apparently been ‘hands on’ teaming up with a respected producer Les Caves du Commandeur (also an investor in the project) and an accomplished winemaker, Valérie Courrèges. The result is an authentic, silky Provence rosé with juicy red berries, peaches, pink citrus and a freshening blast of sea breeze salinity. Duet this with grilled garlic prawns and aioli.
