From the house of Piper Heidsieck, the Co-op’s own-label bubbly is arguably Britain’s best supermarket Champagne. From the fresh, zesty nose, there’s a well-judged mousse and plump, mid-palate green-apple intensity melded with a gentle toasty, autolytic character. Great value, it puts some of its more expensive big-name rivals in the shade.
