Stocked in around a sixth of Sainsbury’s 650 larger supermarkets, a sumptuous Pouilly Fuissé from Charles Drouin, offering alluring aromas of apricot, wild honey, rocha pear and toasted hazelnuts, with juicy stone fruit on the palate, balanced by pithy grapefruit acidity and a hint of flint. This is a lithe, relatively restrained and very enjoyable style of Pouilly Fuissé with sunny fruit and elegant use of oak.
