Sourcing supermarket wines from Burgundy at a sensible price is tough, so the IWSC silver medal this Pinot Noir was awarded last year was richly deserved. The nose entices with cherry, berry character and a gentle hint of pot pourri. In the mouth, the fruit is focused and the texture is silky and smooth with polished tannins, the complexity enhanced by a savoury, herbal undertow that washes over through the finish. A great match for roast duck.
