An elegant, top-flight Rioja from a single plot in Alavesa, named in honour of an ancient olive tree in the 700-year-old vineyard. A blend of Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo, fermented using mostly French oak, the nose offers beguiling aromas of morello cherry, dried rosemary and baking spice that lead into a textured palate of foraged blackberry, tobacco leaf and plum crumble with silky smooth tannins dappled with tiny salt crystals. A natural match for roast lamb.
