This was one of the most impressive red wines in the line-up—classic Margaret River structure and balance at a price well under £10. Aromas of cassis, bay leaf and eucalyptus are textbook, and the palate follows through with graphite, firm but ripe tannins and impressive length. There’s enough polish here to indicate a wine of a higher price point, albeit lacking the concentration of the more serious wines from the region. A solid choice to pair with steak, grilled lamb or mushroom pie, and likely to hold for a couple of years.
