Tesco, Finest Saint-Chinian 2022

Tesco has chosen winemaker Pierre Bessonnet at Maison Fortant to craft this classic Mediterranean blend of Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Mourvédre. Saint-Chinian can sometimes be overbearing but this is a beautifully restrained example, with an enticing nose of foraged blackberries, sundried rosemary and thyme. A gentle floral, red fruit character runs through to the long, summer pudding finish.  A wine to pair with spring lamb.
