A year since Steven Spurrier passed away, The Drinking Hour dedicates an episode to celebrating the extraordinary life of the great critic, winemaker, educator, writer and retailer (as he was when he started out on his wine career 60 years ago).

Host David Kermode is joined by Club Oenologique consultant editor Adam Lechmere, and the pair pay tribute to the late Steven Spurrier, an overall champion of wine and the legendary figure behind the famous ‘Judgement of Paris’. Episode 49 also features medal-winning wine recommendations from the IWSC, for which Spurrier was a senior judge towards the end of his life.
