From a well-regarded co-operative winery, an unusual ‘orange’ (a white made like a red, having contact with the grape skins) produced from Austria’s number one grape, Grüner Veltliner. The intriguing yeasty nose offers kola nuts and marmalade, while the palate is delicate, with citrus and souk spice. Well judged, accessible, and not excessively savoury, this would pair well with an Arabic mezze.
