Roebuck Estates has come from nowhere to earn a place in the top flight of English sparkling producers in a few short years, so credit to M&S for pursuing a partnership to create the Rockferne brand with both a brut and a rosé. The latter stole the show for me – my wine of the 2025 spring/summer tasting – with its elegant nose of Alpine strawberry, pink grapefruit and cherry blossom, there’s gentle intensity, with summer pudding and freshly baked croissant complexity underscored by a subtle nuttiness. A wine to savour on an English summer’s day, served with smoked salmon.
