Aldi, Specially Selected Nemea Red 2019

Greek wines have gone from niche to mainstream because they offer something different at a tempting price point, and this wine is probably my favourite red in the current Aldi range. Made from Agiorgitiko, grown in the Nemea region of the Peloponnese peninsula, there’s bags of dark berry character, with hints of clove and cherry chocolate, kept in check by a vibrant cranberry acidity.
