Elvio Cogno, Anas-Cëtta 2018 (Nascetta)
RRP £23.99
Elvio Cogno not only unveiled the Novello commune’s potential for good Barolo, but he also brought Nascetta – a semi-aromatic variety and the Langhe’s only native white grape – back from oblivion. His daughter Nadia and her husband Valter Fissore have tinkered with the recipe over the years, and their superb Nascetta can age for a decade or more easily. A steel- and oak-aged beauty with briny, citrus and herbal nuances, it tastes like a mix of Sauvignon Blanc and Vermentino.
