The small, lesser-known Loir Valley (not to be confused with the larger Loire Valley) marks the limit of Chenin’s ideal growing conditions. As a result, the wines are extremely delicate. The Nicolas family magnifi es this quality in this particular cuvée, which translates as ‘the sparse old vines’. Notes of wild pear play with a gentle reduction and highlight the tension found from this terroir.
