The perfume leaps out of the glass – lush tropical fruit (quince) just on the turn, peach and a hint of buttery crumble. It’s almost amontillado-like on the palate, there’s a smoky note that penetrates the excellent acidity and the finish remains dry and delicate until the long lingering end produces delicate spray of juice. What a way to start an evening.
