White Bordeaux is criminally underrated, meaning the wines, combining the freshness of Sauvignon Blanc with the charming texture of Semillon, tend to be a hard sell. Here, the producer needed to move on some mature stock, so The Society bagged a bargain for its members. More than eight years of ageing have only served to improve this wine, which offers gentle evolution but retains plenty of freshness. Elegant and smooth, with succulent citrus, enjoy over the next year or so, perhaps with ray wing and beurre noisette.
