Krug Vintage, Brut 1996

Krug, Vintage, Brut 1996

RRP £500

From the original disgorgement release, the 1996 is a very special vintage for the house. It’s the last vintage created by the three generations of the Krug family working together: Paul II, Henri and Rémi, and Olivier. Expressive nose dominated by oak and plenty of sweet ripe fruit and honey. The wine is showing some oxidative characters but is very linear, with a good grip from the supporting acidity. Noticeably textured and full-bodied, with great length. It really needs food to shine and is ready to drink now.
