Very fine nose with some green herbal notes with a perfumed, earthy undertow. The palate is earthy, perfumed with sweet violet and fine old cigars, dark cassis fruit, some minerality and licorice. The finish is good and dry at first but evolved – you crave the merest squirt of juice to soften and irrigate those tannins, which you fear aren’t going to get any sweeter. A very fine wine at its peak.
