From Contrada Palmellata, this Nerello Mascalese grows at 640m above sea level on volcanic sands that hold a good amount of red pumice. The wine has a soft coral colour given by a short maceration (two hours) and aromas of ripe red berries and peach blossom. Ample and enveloping acidity is in perfect balance with an expansive mouthfeel, coming from partial ageing in 600l tonneau for 10 months. A delicious and serious wine that can be drunk immediately for its juiciness but can be kept in the cellar to age for another six to eight years when it should open up and show a higher integration of acidity.
