Rather than just being finished in a Sauternes cask, Tomatin’s 1977 spent 41 years in the first-fill sweet wine barrel. Subtle apricot, apple and caramel on the nose lead into much more intense flavours on the palate, ranging from red apple and peach through crème brûlée and vanilla pod to spicy white pepper notes on the finish.
