Tasca D’Almerita is one of the most famous families in Sicily. They produce wines from different areas of the region with production up to around four million bottles. The Tascante Contrada Rampante rewards with fruit and a sense of place: altitude of over 800 metres, western exposures and particularly poor soils determine an assertive Nerello Mascalese, with a vibrant and slightly saline palate and surprising facets of flavour. The vintage was dry and sunny but old vines coped well without any stress, releasing a delicious wine with firmness and power.
