Winemaker Marcus Notaro characterises this as “SLV for folks that love Bordeaux”. Certainly it has high sweet notes along with a herbal character on the nose which together with the pronounced tannins give it much more of a Bordeaux vibe than its siblings. An interesting wine born of the very difficult growing season in 2015 – rain at bloom and heatwave at harvest – it still has great power and the alcohol is noticeable.
