Lovely, sweet dark fruit on the nose. This is deceptively light until tannins and acidity kick in, tightening things up. Then the palate opens. Wet stone, autumnal flavours, a perfect arc rising and falling to a sweet, juicy finish with huge persistence. A light, airy wine, a wide space intricately beamed and raftered and filled with light. This was the first year that a proportion of the wine was put into large Austrian oak casks.
