Red wine
Penfolds, Bin 600 Cabernet Shiraz 2018
RRP £45
The nose is ripe and creamy, savoury and spicy with some ripe black fruit. Very approachable. Almost all the Shiraz in this wine comes from Penfolds’ 20-year-old vineyards in Paso Robles, planted with cuttings from two famous Australian vineyards, Magill Estate in the Adelaide Hills and Kalimna in Barossa. An incredibly attractive wine, loaded with sweet dark fruit and bolstered by mouthwatering acidity and fine, dusty tannins. It’s fresh and delicate and scented with that creamy violet perfume that places it squarely in California.
