Oh such a lovely nose of dark earthy fruit, fresh cotton. Palate is rich and fresh, so full of flavour – plum and sloe, dark earthy fruits set off by fine racy acidity. It’s full, rounded of course, but there’s a mineral core that runs through it that’s infinitely satisfying, and the finish is textured tannin, pretty dry but not overwhelmingly so – just enough to make you realise it’s a grown-up wine. Smart as you’d expect.
