The nose is very different to previous vintages. It’s lifted, fresh, aerated, clean, with an aroma of washed cotton and notes of sea-breeze; the palate is licorice- and eucalypt-tinged, very precise, mouthfilling, dense, great mouthfeel with still-sappy tannins persisting to the end. Very elegant and delicate with understated power. Lots of green still in it – leaf and sap – this will calm, leaving a memory of green turning to hay. Delicious.
