An extremely challenging vintage, the 1992 Saffredi was showing advanced signs of age. Oxidised, bruised apple and prune aromas on the nose, yet the color is still intense. There is a modest amount of fruit on the palate, although the earthy, spicy notes are attractive. Needs drinking.
