From the llicorella (slate) vineyards above the town of Porrera in Priorat. Steep and mule-ploughed, the 80-year-old vines are stunted things producing intensely-flavoured grapes. Dense and savoury, meaty, animally nose, very fresh, light, aerated palate washed with juice, very light and fresh finish with dark raspberry notes. You expect a certain dryness of tannins in a wine so elegant but it’s fresh and mouthwatering at the end.
