The aromas on this wine are astonishing, even by the astonishing standards of this lineup. It’s slightly reductive, a fine whiff of river mud comes out of the glass, quickly followed by the most lovely dark fruit. The palate is a symphony of dark raspberry, and loamy earth with minerally, saline notes; the tannins are soft and lingering, all underscored by bright acidity. Charming.
