D’Arenberg, The Ironstone Pressings Grenache/Shiraz/Mourvèdre 2017

RRP £42.00

D’Arenberg makes a number of Grenaches and Grenachebased blends; this one sits at the top of the totem and is unabashedly built to last. The colour is deep, dark and brooding, the nose leading with distinctive Mataro notes of earthy pepper, dry leather and bresaola. There’s a ferrous/ironstone character throughout that echoes the name of the wine. A big, rustic, brawny wine, with a blast of firm tannins. Very cellar-worthy.
