Red wine
Château Lafite Rothschild 2018
Pristine balance and opulence, at 13.3% it’s defying the high alcohol of the vintage. Cool graphite nose. Impressive density on the palate with freshness, pencil lead and suave finesse, yet also satin tannins with a grippy Pauillac edge. A great wine in the making, with 91% Cabernet Sauvignon. Experienced tasters who actually know the 1959 are making favourable comparisons.
Score: 98-100
