Red wine
Château La Conseillante 2018
This is diaphanous and elegant, fresh and floral on the nose, and very long on the finish. The tannin measure is a whopping 95, but you don’t feel it. For the first time, the estate is using (ultra-fashionable) clay amphorae to lessen the influence of oak flavors on the wine, even if these containers account for just 3% of the wine aging. In some ways, the 2018 at this estate most resembles their fresh and elegant 2016, and that is a good thing.
