Red wine
Castiglion del Bosco, Campo del Drago Brunello di Montalcino 2013
RRP £81
This is from some of the highest south-southwest- facing vineyards of Capanna – you can smell that sun-warmed slate. Then there is lovely violet perfume and a mouthwatering palate, juicy, full and bright. It’s concentrated, with black cherry, slightly tarry and earthy; liquorice and fine sour tannins, grainy, very textured and palate-scouring. With its good acidity, this is a wine that cries out for food – pigeon breast for preference.
