Aldi, Specially Selected Australian Pinot Noir 2023

I tend to approach Pinot Noir at low prices with a sense of trepidation, so this was a very pleasant surprise because it’s absolutely delicious. Plums, red cherries and hints of blueberry lead into a juicy-fruited wine that’s perfectly balanced, neither mean nor overly extracted, with bags of varietal character. One for sipping on its own, it could also be a lovely match for grilled salmon.
