Nine individual casks of Port Ellen distilled at this closed Islay distillery have been combined for this special 40-year-old release, the oldest expression from the distillery yet. Bottled at cask strength, this legendary whisky offers delicate notes of peat smoke, vanilla pipe tobacco and chamois leather. The palate gives fruit compote and creamy vanilla toffee, with wafts of beach bonfire and a long, unctuous finish.
